Why Boekhoudbaar?
If you're a freelancer (ZZP'er) in the Netherlands, your bookkeeping has three problems: it's complicated, it's expensive (€20-30/month for life), and your data lives on someone else's server. Boekhoudbaar fixes all three.
Complete Dutch ZZP bookkeeping
Invoices, expenses, VAT returns (BTW-aangifte), bank reconciliation, P&L, balance sheet — everything you need for the Belastingdienst.

Are you eligible? (Yes, almost certainly)
Boekhoudbaar is designed for the Dutch ZZP market. You qualify if:
- You're registered at the KvK as Eenmanszaak (sole proprietorship), VOF (general partnership), or solo professional
- You file VAT returns to the Dutch Belastingdienst (BTW-aangifte)
- Your annual revenue is below ~€500K (above that, an accountant is more cost-effective anyway)
- You have a Google account (or can create one with your existing email — even Outlook/iCloud/Proton works)
It does not work well if you have:
- A BV (besloten vennootschap) — too complex for a single sheet
- Personnel/payroll — that's a different product category (Loket, Nmbrs)
- International VAT in 3+ countries — wait until our multi-country update
What's included for €49
- Complete bookkeeping system (invoices, expenses, bank, journal entries)
- Dutch VAT calculations (21% / 9% / 0% / exempt / reverse-charge) — auto-generated quarterly returns
- Mollie iDEAL payment integration on invoices
- AI receipt scanning (Gemini Vision)
- KvK auto-fill for new customers (you type a KvK number, the rest is filled in)
- Tax-saving signaling (KIA, MIA, EIA, MKB exemption, lijfrente)
- Year-end reports for your accountant (PDF + XLSX + JSONL)
- Read-only sharing with your accountant (auto-expires after 30 days)
- iCal feed of all VAT deadlines (Google/Apple/Outlook calendar)

Activation guarantee + defect guarantee
Activation fails within 7 days? Or something demonstrably doesn't work as described? Email [email protected] — I'll fix it or refund your €49. No "no-questions-asked refund" because Boekhoudbaar is a digital product immediately accessible in your Drive — but a fair conversation if you have concerns. See terms article 6.

I don't speak Dutch — can I still use Boekhoudbaar?
The product UI is in Dutch (because it produces Dutch invoices and VAT returns). However: most labels are obvious to English speakers (Datum=Date, Factuur=Invoice, BTW=VAT). Use Google Translate's auto-translate for the spreadsheet itself. Email support is in English.
Can my customers pay in foreign currency?
Currently EUR only. Multi-currency is on the roadmap for late 2026. Workaround: invoice in EUR, your customer's bank handles conversion.
What if I leave the Netherlands?
Your data is in your Google Drive. Export to XLSX (built-in feature, GDPR Article 20). No lock-in. The product itself is NL-tax-specific so won't help you in another country, but your historical data is yours forever.
Do you have an English version of the product?
Not yet. The Belastingdienst itself is Dutch-only, so any output (invoices, VAT returns) needs to be in Dutch anyway. We may add an English UI overlay in 2027. Meantime: 95% of buttons are emoji + universal terms (date, amount, VAT) — works fine for English speakers.
